An art-driven interior design studio in San Francisco. Personal, collected, never prescribed.

The designer is not the protagonist. The client is. We listen first, then edit, interpret and elevate what is already there.
The architecture, the collections, the rituals, the eccentricities. A room is composed from space, art, furniture, material, colour and light until it could belong to no one else.

A 1912 house rebuilt around a family's paintings and a very long dining table. Smoked mirror where the room needed to double, marble where the kitchen needed to be quiet. Nothing matched; everything belongs.
Most of what makes a Pastarello room is made for it: upholstered in the Mission, cast in Berkeley, cut from a slab chosen in person. The studio draws it; people we know by name make it.

Mohair and velvet hand-stitched onto frames built for the room they sit in.

Unlacquered brass and polished nickel, left to change with the hands that use them.

Calacatta Monet selected slab by slab so the veining runs where the eye rests.

Every room starts as a pencil drawing and a table of samples, not a moodboard.
