The designer is not the protagonist; the client is. Pastarello listens first, then edits, interprets and elevates what is already there.
A 1912 house rebuilt around a family's paintings and a very long dining table. Smoked mirror where the room needed to double, marble where the kitchen needed to be quiet.
Most of what makes a Pastarello room is made for it: upholstered in the Mission, cast in Berkeley, cut from a slab chosen in person.
